<p>Our wireless team formulated the finer details of the <strong><a href="http://www.networkworld.com/supp/2009/outlook/hottech/010509-nine-hot-techs-80211n.html">802.11n 5 GHz</a></strong> deployment schedule. This team is made up of technical engineers and network administrators from <strong><a href="http://www.fairport.org/departments.cfm?subpage=418">ISC,</a></strong> <strong><a href="http://www.monroe.edu/techServices.cfm">Monroe #1</a><a href="http://www.monroe.edu/techServices.cfm"> BOCES</a>,</strong> <strong><a href="http://www-935.ibm.com/services/us/igs/">IBM</a></strong> and<a href="http://www.vpnsystems.com/"> VPN Services</a><strong>. <a href="http://www.milesdata.com/wireless-site-survey/wireless-site-survey.php">Physical site surveys</a> </strong>of all the buildings was our topic.</p>
<p><strong><a href="http://www.milesdata.com/wireless-site-survey/wireless-site-survey.php">Physical site surveys </a></strong>is the act of physically walking the building with special technical equipment that identifies the specific locations for<a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wireless_access_point"> <strong>wireless access</strong> points</a><strong>.</strong>&#8230;the devices that emit/receive the wireless signals. This is VERY important to our <a href="http://tvt.wiki.fairport.org/"><strong>TVT</strong> </a>requirements for creating a predictable and flexible learning environment.</p>
<p>Over Feb break the VPN engineers will conduct a sire survey of<strong> <a href="http://www.fairport.org/JohannaPerrin.cfm">JP</a> </strong>mark the installation location of the wireless access points. We are still deep in an evaluation of the <strong><a href="http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/hw/wireless/products_category_buyers_guide.html#access_points">Cisco</a></strong> &amp; <a href="http://www.merunetworks.com/products/access_points.php"><strong>Mehru</strong> </a>wireless access points and should be finished in a month. This team also determined that it may be very possible to conduct a site survey of the high school later this year. The other buildings will be done at the tail end of the summer 2010.</p>
