Our wireless team formulated the finer details of the 802.11n 5 GHz deployment schedule. This team is made up of technical engineers and network administrators from ISC, Monroe #1 BOCES, IBM and VPN Services. Physical site surveys of all the buildings was our topic.

Physical site surveys is the act of physically walking the building with special technical equipment that identifies the specific locations for wireless access points.…the devices that emit/receive the wireless signals. This is VERY important to our TVT requirements for creating a predictable and flexible learning environment.

Over Feb break the VPN engineers will conduct a sire survey of JP mark the installation location of the wireless access points. We are still deep in an evaluation of the Cisco & Mehru wireless access points and should be finished in a month. This team also determined that it may be very possible to conduct a site survey of the high school later this year. The other buildings will be done at the tail end of the summer 2010.
