First 2 weeks of school….

Well the first 2 weeks of school are behind us and it is really a great feeling to have the students & teachers back in school. There is a lot of positive energy in the air when school is back in operation. I am really proud of the ISC technical team as HelpDesk Tickets are down 82% compared to three years ago for this same time period. The bulk of the calls have to do with two issues:
1. Printing
2. Password resets
Printing is a real problem due to the nature of the printers themselves. They are mostly stand alone printers meant for 1 computer, but people like to have multiple computers print to them. Hopefully our strategy to go to zone printing with network printers, versus room by room printing, will address this problem.
People forgetting their passwords is a common problem for us all, myself included! This year we are implementing an automatic password reset program whereby people will be prompted to anser their security questions so as to empower them to reset their own passwords. We hope this will minimize down time for staff and students.
